Founder, Renata Grec...
Hello, I would like
to welcome you to our Skin Care Clinique, World Spa and
Boutique!
My name is Renata Grec. I was born in Poland, came to United
States in 1980 and settled in New York City, where I lived
for five years. That's where I attended and later graduated
from Ultissima Beauty Institute, which entitled me to
practice in New York State and then Christine Valmy
International School of Esthetics and Make-up to further my
knowledge and capabilities. My avid inborn interest in the
newest breakthroughs in research and science of this
industry and my continuing education never stooped. I also
emphasize the importance of education and require my
estheticians, therapists and sales-staff to comply and
achieve a higher level of knowledge in regards to treatments
and products.
I moved to
Saratoga Springs in 1985 with my husband and two daughters.
In 1986 together we've opened a very successful business;
Saratoga's First and Original Full Service Salon. Eleven
years later I was at the crossroads of my life, loosing my
dear mother which I cared for to cancer and starting as a
single woman again. There was a question mark over my
professional life as well, since the long term lease was
coming to an end and I was loosing a business partner in my
ex-husband. The challenged was great, so was my
determination!
I moved to a
smaller but beautiful location at the historic Adelphi Hotel
right on the main street and decided to concentrate on what
I liked to do the most, which is Skin Care. It was very challenging and hard yet very gratifying, where
after providing services all day I would go to the new
location and engage in physical labor of painting, scrubbing
and cleaning. Esthetiques, European Skin Care Clinique, on
Broadway, opened in March of 1997 and is still thriving. In
1998 after battling with prolonged case of joint
inflammation I visited some Spas in Europe where I was
successfully treated. That brought a spark of inspiration
for me. I researched both the treatments and products and
decided to share the therapeutics effects of these with my
clients. It was that summer that the boutique was born,
first providing healing remedies imported from different
parts of the world as well as the advanced skin care lines
and soon expanding its capacity with various, unusual
findings from my extensive traveling. My life experiences
taught me a lot. I am very grateful for that because I
learned a tremendous amount and it made me a better person.
I am very sensitive to pain and sufferings of others,
because I've been there and know how difficult and
challenging life at times can be. In the summer of 2002 I
decided to participate in a Breast Cancer Walk along with my
two beautiful daughters. Together we raised over $8,500 and
embarked on a three day walking journey. Going there I felt
like I was doing something to give, but coming back I
realized that I got so much more, for the spirit of that
experience is still with me.
That fall I
was full of energy and that's when the vision of opening the
Spa came to me. I wanted to create a healing, nurturing and relaxing
environment for people to be taken care of, a place where a
person can just be, meditate and allow themselves to get
deeper and see what's within. The Spa was born! In January
of 2003 we opened the door. An unforgettable trip to
Thailand sparked the inspiration for the decor; resulting in
a magical destination, full of intense energy. Here you can
treat your Mind, Body and Spirit. At last I was able to
fully utilize all my experiences and bring not only the
products but this time the treatments as well to share with
my clients. These vary from Dead Sea Mud Wrap; Austrian Moor
Therapies; Indian Ayurvedic Treatments; Massage and Energy
Works just to name the few.
My intention
is to share this place with those less fortunate as well as
our clients. I would like to start a program where we can
provide free services to treat battered women and those in
need. So far we have done this with a few individual cases.
